O.S. (Off Screen)

Dialogue from a character present in the scene but outside the camera frame.

(O.S.) means the speaker is in the scene's space but not in the shot — calling from the kitchen, hidden behind a door. The sound is live in the world of the scene, which is exactly what separates it from voice over.
