About

One More Draft is a writing workspace and a community of writers in one place. The thesis is simple: most stories die not because the writer couldn't write the words, but because they got stuck — on structure, on motivation, on whether the thing they're working on is actually any good.

Why this exists

Every framework — Save the Cat, the Hero's Journey, Three-Act — works when you actually use it. Most writers don't, because pulling a beat sheet out of a textbook means you've already lost the thread of your story. One More Draft puts the structure right next to your prose so the friction goes away.

And feedback — real feedback, not "I liked it" feedback — is hard to come by. Submitting to the Workshop is free, but reviewing earns reputation that flags you as someone who shows up. The give-to-get norm keeps the queue full of writers who actually engage. New here with nothing to trade yet? Ask an admin for a starter grant during beta — we'd rather get you reviewed than make you wait.

Quill guides and steers — never writes.

Quill is your editor and writing coach — a tool, not a co-author. We never train models on your stories. Quill is opt-in, coin-priced (so cost stays predictable), and returns structured feedback: an honest assessment, what's working, and concrete suggestions you act on yourself. Quill never writes or rewrites your story. It reads your beats, characters, and themes and tells you where they're strong and where they need work — the words on the page always stay yours. (Quill is powered by AI; you're always the author.)

What's not here yet

• Mobile native app — the site already works as a progressive web app (PWA — you can install it to your phone's home screen from the browser). A native app is deferred until demand justifies it.
• Marketplace — industry coverage from verified pros is on the roadmap, not live yet.
• Stripe subscriptions — beta users have free Quill access up to a daily limit until subscriptions land.
