Accessibility

One More Draft is for every writer. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across the site and the writing tools, and we treat an accessibility barrier as a bug.

• Run automated accessibility checks (axe) as part of our test suite, in both the light and dark themes, across our public pages and the main writing surfaces: the dashboard, library, settings, the manuscript and screenplay editors, and the story workspace.
• Give every page a "Skip to content" link and a single main landmark, so keyboard and screen-reader users can go straight to the content.
• Label the screenplay and manuscript editors and their toolbars for screen readers.
• Label every field on our account, settings, contact, and sign-in forms, and announce form errors to screen readers, pointing the field at its error.
• Make dialogs move focus inside, keep Tab within them, close with Escape, and return focus to the button that opened them.
• Give images text alternatives.
• Never block browser zoom, and offer an in-app zoom control and a dark theme.
• Never autoplay audio or video.

We know about these gaps and are working through them. If one of them gets in your way, tell us and we will help directly.

• Some panels inside the story and screenplay workspaces still show errors as plain text that a screen reader may not announce.
• While a long task is running, the progress overlay does not stop keyboard focus from moving to the page behind it.
• A few loading animations do not yet respect your system's "reduce motion" setting.
• The downloadable PDF field guides are tagged for screen readers, with headings, bookmarks, and a reading order, but we have not yet checked them against the PDF/UA standard. Ask us for another format of any guide.

If something on One More Draft is hard or impossible to use with your setup, email support@onemoredraft.com or use our contact form. It helps to tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and any assistive technology you use (for example a screen reader or voice control). We read every report and will reply, and we can send content you need in another format.
