One More Draft is a place where writers share unfinished work and honest feedback. That only works if it feels safe to post a rough draft. Be the reader you'd want on your own worst day of writing.
These guidelines apply to every shared space: forums, the Workshop, direct messages, prompt responses, the Logline Arena, contests, Hall of Fame entries, and your public profile. They are part of our Terms of Service.
Critique the writing, never the writer. "This scene loses me because the stakes aren't clear" is feedback; "you clearly can't write" is harassment. No insults, slurs, dogpiling, or targeted hostility. No hate speech directed at anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
Don't follow someone from thread to thread, flood their DMs after they've stopped replying, or use blocks and bans as a challenge. When someone blocks you, that conversation is over.
Fiction goes to dark places, and that's fine - stories posted for feedback may deal with violence, sex, abuse, and other adult themes. But in shared spaces:
Label it. If an excerpt contains graphic violence or sexual content, say so at the top so readers can opt in. Don't put explicit content in titles, loglines, usernames, avatars, or anywhere a reader can't avoid it.
Sexual content involving minors is banned with zero tolerance, fictional or otherwise. Accounts are removed on the first offense, and where the law requires it we report to the relevant authorities.
Don't post anyone's personal information - real name, address, workplace, photos, contact details - without their consent (doxxing). Don't impersonate other people, including other members, industry professionals, or One More Draft staff.
Remember that forums, profiles, and other public surfaces are readable by anyone on the internet, including search engines. Don't share more about yourself than you'd want indexed.
Don't spam, run scams, or flood boards with self-promotion. Don't post someone else's work as your own. Don't farm Workshop tokens, reviews, kudos, or contest votes with accounts you control. Don't try to bypass moderation actions, bans, or rate limits.
You must be 16 or older to have an account. If you believe an account belongs to someone under 16, report it or email privacy@onemoredraft.com. See the "Children" section of our Privacy Policy.
Every forum post, message, and community submission has a Report control. Use it - reports go straight to the moderation queue, and reporting is always anonymous to the person being reported. For anything urgent or sensitive, email support@onemoredraft.com.
Depending on severity, moderators may remove content, lock threads, apply temporary suspensions, or permanently ban accounts. Egregious violations - threats, doxxing, sexual content involving minors - skip the warnings. We keep an audit trail of moderation actions, and bans can be appealed by emailing support@onemoredraft.com.
