O.C. (Off Camera)

The sibling of O.S. — a speaker in the scene but out of frame, preferred in animation and multi-camera TV.

(O.C.) marks the same situation as (O.S.): the character is physically present in the scene but not visible in the shot. The difference is mostly dialect — O.C. is the house style in animation and multi-camera television, while single-camera film and TV lean on O.S.

Some writers draw a finer line — O.C. for 'in the room, just outside frame' and O.S. for 'on location but unseen' (behind a door, in the next room). Either way, the working rule is consistency: pick one convention and hold it for the whole script.
