Shooting Script

The production draft — numbered scenes, locked pages, and revisions tracked on colored pages.

Once a script heads into production it becomes a shooting script: scenes are numbered for scheduling, pages are 'locked' so revisions don't renumber everything, and each round of changes is issued on a new color (blue, pink, yellow…) with asterisks marking revised lines.

The conventions exist so a hundred people can reference 'Scene 42, pink pages' and mean exactly the same thing.
