Intercut

A device for cutting between two or more locations within one continuous scene — classically, a phone call.

INTERCUT tells the reader we're bouncing between simultaneous locations without re-slugging every switch: establish both ends of the phone call, mark INTERCUT, and write the conversation straight through. It keeps rhythm on the dialogue instead of on repeated scene headings.
